Terms of Use
Last updated: July 25, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your purchase and use of Excel
working-paper templates and related digital products (each, a “Template”) sold by
TaxWorkbooks (“TaxWorkbooks,” “we,” “us,” or
“our”). By purchasing or using a Template, you (“you,” “the
user,” or “the firm”) agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not
purchase or use our Templates.
1. What We Sell
TaxWorkbooks sells Excel productivity tools for tax professionals — working-paper
templates such as our T2, T5013, and EIFEL packages. Our Templates automate calculations and
provide documentation structure only. They are software tools, not tax return preparation,
review, or filing services, and they do not generate a return or election on your behalf.
2. Not Professional Advice
Nothing we provide is tax, legal, or accounting advice, and none is implied by your purchase
or use of a Template. No accountant-client relationship, solicitor-client relationship, or
other professional relationship is formed between you and TaxWorkbooks by virtue of
purchasing or using our products. TaxWorkbooks is a product vendor. We are not a professional
services firm, we do not practice public accounting or law, and we do not review, sign, or
take responsibility for any client work you produce using our Templates.
3. Professional Responsibility
You are a tax, accounting, or legal professional (or a firm employing such professionals),
and you remain solely responsible for:
- the accuracy and completeness of any return, election, schedule, or other document you
prepare using a Template;
- the filing of that return, election, schedule, or document with the relevant tax
authority;
- verifying every calculation, formula, and figure produced by a Template against current
legislation, regulations, and administrative guidance before relying on it; and
- exercising your own independent professional judgment on every file.
A Template is a working aid. It does not replace your professional review.
4. Currency of Content
Each Template reflects the legislative references stated on its product page as of the
version date stated there. Tax law changes. Before relying on a Template for a current
engagement, you must confirm that its stated version is still current for the tax year and
rules that apply to your file. TaxWorkbooks makes no representation that a Template remains
accurate after its stated version date.
5. No Warranty / Limitation of Liability
Templates are sold “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of
any kind, express or implied, including without limitation any warranty of merchantability,
fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TaxWorkbooks’s total liability to you arising
out of or relating to a Template, however framed, is capped at the amount you paid for that
Template. TaxWorkbooks is not liable for any filing outcome, reassessment, penalty, interest,
lost profit, or other direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising
from your use of a Template, even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable Québec
or Canadian law.
6. Updates
Minor updates released for the tax year you purchased (for example, formula corrections or
clarifications) are provided to you free of charge. A version of a Template built for a new
tax year is a new product and a new purchase — it is not covered by your original
purchase.
7. Support Scope
We provide reasonable email support on template mechanics — for example, how a formula
works, how to navigate a workbook, or how to resolve a technical error in the file. We do not
provide support on tax positions, technical interpretations, or how the template should be
applied to your specific client fact pattern. That judgment is yours, as described in
Section 3.
8. Refunds
TaxWorkbooks sells directly to you as the seller of record. Our storefront and delivery are
hosted on Payhip, but your payment is processed through our own connected payment account
(Stripe or PayPal); Payhip does not hold or issue your funds. Refunds are granted at
TaxWorkbooks’s discretion, in accordance with the policy below, and — when
approved — are issued back to your original payment method through that same payment
processor.
Our refund policy:
- You may request a refund within 14 days of purchase.
- We will honor a refund request if, after you have contacted us for support and given us a
reasonable opportunity to help, a Template still cannot be made to work as documented.
- We do not offer refunds for a change of mind on a Template that has
already been delivered. Our Templates are digital files that are downloadable immediately
on purchase; once delivered, “I no longer need it” or “I changed my
mind” is not grounds for a refund.
- To request a refund, email us (see Section 9) with your order number and a description of
the issue and the support steps already tried.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of
Canada applicable in Québec, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute
arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of a Template is subject to the
exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Québec, Canada.

License
This license governs your use of the Excel working-paper template(s) you purchased from
TaxWorkbooks (each, a “Template”). It applies to every Template regardless of
which package it came from (T2, T5013, EIFEL, or any other TaxWorkbooks product). By using a
Template, you agree to this license.
1. Grant
Subject to this license and to our Terms of Use, TaxWorkbooks grants you
a perpetual, non-exclusive license to use the Template:
- for one firm, at one office location;
- with unlimited users within that office; and
- on unlimited client files.
If your firm operates from more than one office location, each additional location requires
its own license.
2. Prohibited Uses
You may not:
- redistribute, resell, sublicense, or share the Template outside your firm, including with
other firms, contractors not engaged by your firm, or the public;
- post, upload, or otherwise make the Template (or any substantial part of it) available on
any file-sharing service, marketplace, template site, or similar platform;
- incorporate the Template into, or offer it as part of, any product or service you sell or
distribute to others, including a competing template, software product, or training
package; or
- remove, obscure, or alter TaxWorkbooks’s branding, attribution, or disclaimer
content built into the Template.
Finished client deliverables you produce using the Template (e.g., a completed return or
working paper you deliver to your own client) are not restricted by this section — this
section restricts the Template itself, not your client work product.
3. Updates
Your rights to free minor updates and the treatment of new tax-year versions are set out in
Section 6 of our Terms of Use, which applies to this license as if fully
repeated here.
4. Termination
This license ends automatically if you breach any part of it, including the prohibited uses
in Section 2. On termination, you must stop using the Template and delete all copies of the
Template file itself (this does not require deleting client deliverables you already produced
with it). TaxWorkbooks may also refuse future sales to you following a breach.
